What Balance Due processes

Balance Due processes Shopify store, customer, order, draft order, quote, open-balance, reminder, and payment-status information needed to provide the service. When a customer reports an offline payment, we process the amount, date, method, reference, notes, and any proof-of-payment file they choose to upload. We also process merchant account details, support messages, email delivery events, and technical security logs. We do not process card details.

Why we use this information

We use information to import and reconcile balances, create quotes, send merchant-authorised reminders, handle payment claims, provide exports, prevent abuse, secure the service, and support merchants. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

We use Shopify for commerce data and authentication, Vercel for application hosting, Supabase for managed Postgres infrastructure, Resend for email delivery, and Sentry for error monitoring. These providers process information only to operate their services for Balance Due. Optional future banking connections will be disclosed before a merchant enables them.

Retention and deletion

We keep information only while it is needed to provide Balance Due, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Shopify privacy webhooks notify us of customer and shop privacy requests. When data is deleted, limited non-identifying records may remain where required for security or legal compliance.

Your choices and rights

Merchants can review, export, and correct operational data in the app. Customers and merchants may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information. Shopify customers can also make a request through the relevant merchant.
